We are delighted that Wilmer Place is a winner of the New London Awards 2020 Housing Prize.
The scheme is a new mixed use development for housing and flexible workplace, which maximises the economic potential of the site and provides commercial space along with a range of dwellings on a constrained and controversial site within Stoke Newington. It provides new public space while respecting the Listed park behind and other surrounding listed buildings.
International jury member Andreas Ruby said that: ‘I think this is an amazing project, because it’s both an urban design statement as well as an architectural design. How it makes the place I think is just quite fabulous. There’s a beautiful balance between outdoor and indoor spaces and obviously an awareness of not only what it means to build a house but also to inform the unbuilt space around it’.
